My sister wants to give me a bachelorette party (I'm not supposed to know but my Maid of Honor told me to try and figure out what to plan that I'd like). But I'm not a bachelorette party kind of girl. So one of the ideas that is bouncing around is to take me to AGPC to have lunch and whatnot. I've been to the store a few times but never to the cafe and never with my doll. I beginning to think that this would be the perfect bachelorette thing for me to do. I was never/am not a party girl. Drinking strippers I'm just very straight laced. And since I'm still rather young (only 23), it'll kinda be like saying goodbye to my childhood (or at least openly acting like a child because let's face it I'll never give up collecting AG or PEZ, reading YA fiction, etc). Up until now, there was always the possibility of bring my doll to AGP, but once I get married it won't likely be an option until I have a daughter.

Plus I'd totally get a kick out of seeing my two 23 yr old friends and my 30 yr old sister riding the train into Chicago with dolls and then walking down the "mean streets" of Chicago clutching Addy, Kit or Kirsten.

I'd love to have that instead of a typical bachelorette party!

For goodness sake, go for it! Your friend would not have asked if she hadn't wanted to know what you would really like to do.

Can I come? It sounds so fun! Recently my group of friends (7 of us called the Pink Flamingos) went to Build - a - Bear to make yes, Pink Flamingos. I'm the youngest at 45. We had a blast as did the young girl who did our party. You don't have to say goodbye to your childhood when you get married but it sounds like the perfect party for you. Go for it!

How about having every guest bring their doll(even if it's not AG) , so everyone needs a "treat seat" in the cafe?! What fun!

I think it sounds like a great idea. I'm also not a fan of "traditional" bachelor/bachelorette parties, and I think doing something that better reflects your personality and interests is a great idea. My husband played basketball for his "bachelor party" and went to a MN Twins games for one of his friends' parties, so I think a day at AGPC sounds wonderful for you. If you feel you must do something "traditional" have your friends' dolls wearing bridesmaid dresses, and yours in a wedding gown!

Have a blast!

That is a great idea. Don't think of it as saying good-bye to your childhood but hello to your adult childhood.
Please take lots of photos to share with us!

Sounds fun to me! If it's what you want, go for it. . . I bet your girlfriends would love tea at an AG place.

As a present, maybe you could ask for money to give to one of our board seamtresses to make your dolls a wedding dress to match yours. That would be a great momento.

Awesome idea! I can't think of anything better! And I'm with you...I'm not a party girl.
